Sorcerlocity

A Tale by The Rat

A long time ago in a land not so far away there lived a girl named Lacie. She lived with her stepmom, Macensa, her dad, Larenso, and her two stepbrothers, Nalasto and Galasto. The family lived in the beautiful Cellie Palace. Macensa was a secret sorcerer.

When Lacie was five her dad was in a carriage race and he won. After the race, Macensa looked at Larenso’s horse. It went crazy and ran amok. When the horse went over a bump in the road, Larenso fell off. He was badly injured and soon died. When Lacie found out she started to cry. Lacie would have to live with her mean stepmom, the secret sorcerer.

For the next eight years, Lacie had to work hard and only had a few privileges. Her prized possession was her father’s carriage, which she got to keep. When she was thirteen years old, she entered her first carriage race. Lacie paused for a moment, thought of her dad, and started to cry. This made her lose credit in the race for not starting when the announcer yelled, “Go!” She was so sad, but Macensa was happy.

Nalasto and Galasto were nice and funny. They would keep Lacie company and make her laugh. Another tragic day in Lacie’s life was when her stepbrothers went on a trip. Lacie was left at home with her evil stepmom. Without her stepbrothers there to protect her, Lacie found out something very weird about her stepmom. One day, Lacie was doing the dishes and spilled water on Macensa. When Macensa got wet she grew tentacles, her body became shaped like a cylinder, and she got even meaner to Lacie than usual. Macensa used her sorcerer’s powers to dry off, and she returned to her normal shape, but her evil character stayed the same.

One day Lacie was swimming in the beautiful Lake LaKinda when a little girl named Sissy walked up and offered to help Lacie with her problems. Afterward Sissy went to the garden, dropped her bag in the bushes, and decided to have a talk with Macensa. Sissy asked Macensa if she would stop being cruel. Macensa replied with a quite simple “No.” Sissy then said, “I give up, I guess,” and left.

But Sissy forgot her bag. One of the things in the bag was a talking duck, and as Macensa was leaving, the duck stuck out his webbed foot and tripped her. Macensa fell in Lake LaKinda and grew her ugly tentacles and cylinder-shaped body.

She hollered, “Ouch, that was mean!”

“Not as mean as you are!” the duck yelled back.

“I guess I could be a little less mean,” Macensa hypothesized.

“Try not at all,” the duck stated. The duck added, “Maybe if you were nicer your stepdaughter would do what you asked because she likes you, not because she’s afraid of you.”

“Okay, that is a great lesson. What do you call it?” Macensa asked.

“Sorcerlocity,” answered the duck.

And they all lived happily ever after.

THE END
