What is it Wednesday #6

For What is it Wednesday each week, I post a picture cropped from a picture. You guess what it was cropped from in the comments.

The following Wednesday I post the original photo and a new cropped photo to try to guess.

Here is last week's cropped photo:

Here is what it was cropped from:

It is a chess piece. My dad and I play chess together on this board. I am in the chess club at school. Chess is fun.

Nobody guessed it last week. There were some good guesses. I decided to make it easier this week.

Here is this week's cropped photo:

What is it? (Try to guess what place this tower is from.)

HA! It is perhaps a church tower or a mission tower.
Here is a little haiku I wrote with you in mind:
Pudding is so good
Vanilla or chocolate
Never enough?

For the sake of POETIC license and to make it sound good I didn't follow the form exactly, but anyway.....
you play chess in a club and with your father? Wow.

That was a great crop last week!!! Well done :-)

Hmmm...this week? I don't know! The only thing that pops to mind is Mission Viega...and I don't even know why!

It is the bell tower of Mission San Luis Rey.

Okay...so yeah...the top of some mission...like maybe the one you and your mom went to a couple of weeks ago?

But really...it looks like the top to one of Denver, Colorado's most famous Mexican restaurants (though the food isn't really very good, it rocks in FUN!!)...it's called Casa Bonita and my boys LOVE going there...the cliff divers and gorillas are awesome!!! :-D

Geez! Rat, you sure now how to make things tough! I really thought that was the bottom of a lamp- you sure it wasn't? OK- just kidding. Yeah- it must be the top of the wrong mission you guys went to a couple weeks ago.

I'm guessing that is from your awesome mission project. It looks so real, but I bet it's just sugar cubes and your awesome-ness that created it! ; -)

that's the top of the rook from the life-sized chess board your dad is having built for you, right?

it is so.
